Donation Hot Power Flow benefiting The Harry P. Mirabile, Sr. Colorectal Cancer Center

Join Stephanie for a donation hot power flow benefiting the Harry P. Mirabile, Sr. Colorectal Cancer Center. Harry P. Mirabile Sr., was committed to his family. Committed to his Norristown community. Committed to personal philanthropy and to the vigorous support of a wide range of charitable causes. Stephanie's Grandfather was diagnosed with Colon Cancer in 1991. He had 86 rounds of radiation before his first lung surgery in 1996. He had five major lung operations. Throughout his 22 year long and courageous struggle with colorectal cancer, he maintained his grace, continued to help people and never let his cancer define him. Giving back was a basic tenant of Harry Mirabiles remarkable life.

Stephanie's grandmother was by her grandfather's side during his fight. In response to the extraordinary care his family gave him, he also received a great amount of care and attention from Drs. Gerald and John Marks. Harry was committed to The Marks Colorectal Surgical Foundation and their quest to improve the lives of colorectal cancer patients.

Stephanie's family was approached to honor my grandfather's legacy, by establishing The Harry P. Mirabile, Sr. Colorectal Cancer Center at Lankenau Medical Center in June 2011. Fighting colorectal cancer is a multi-dimensional effort. The disease is the most frequent internal malignancy affecting men and women in Eastern Pennsylvania. The Harry P. Mirabile, Sr. Colorectal Cancer Center is a “virtual center without walls.” Bringing a multi-disciplinary force of researchers, clinicians, surgeons and after care specialists together to share their knowledge will enable significant progress in the battle with this disease. This center's mission is to provide a framework for basic scientists and clinicians to exchange ideas for solving the most demanding problems in the struggle to prevent, treat and subdue colorectal cancer through clinical research.

Through Stephanie's Grandfather’s Foundation, we hope to raise money to continue research and, one day, find a cure.

Stephanie and her family will be having a golf tournament on September 23 at Whitemarsh Valley Country Club as another fundraiser. Please contact us if you’d like more information!
